Pearl Shaving Co (Madhav Metal Industries) was founded in India in 1990. It produces a comprehensive range of shaving hardware and is an ISO 9001 certified company. The Pearl Hammer is a solid brass razor with a silver matt finish. Solid brass makes for great longevity so this razor should last for decades, certainly much longer than razors at a similar price made of zamak.

We extensively tested the Hammer razor and we can say it is an excellent and very efficient double edge razor, best suited for use by experienced DE shavers with thick or coarse beards. This razor is not recommended for new users of double edge safety razors. Note that there is no blade overhang.

There are nice touches to this product such as the included washers to protect the head, a polishing cloth and 10 DE blades. It also comes with an additional 10 Treet platinum razor blades.

As with all Pearl solid brass razors, it is vital to let the blade and the weight of the razor do the work, so applying additional pressure is neither necessary nor desirable.
